Botanical name - Crocus sativus
Description - The drug consists of the dried stigmas with part of Style of crocus sativus linn. of the family Iridaceae.
Chemical_Constituents- It contains glucosides, crocin, crocetin and piciocrocin with an essential oil. Carotenes and lycopene are also present.
Uses - It is Used in fevers, melancholia, liver enlargements, catarrhal affections and skin diseases. In over dose it is narcotic.
